Doc
Mike "Doc" Palecki
(a.k.a. "Miami Mike")
(click photo to see full size photo)

Mike "Doc" Palecki (a.k.a. "Miami Mike") loves his harmonica and his playing proves this.  He plays with feeling and intensity and love.  Blues, rock, gospel, country, bluegrass, folk, zydeco, reggae -- you name it, Mike plays it hard and plays it great.  That's why Big Daddy has taken him to Europe 3 times for acoustic duo tours.  Docs played with some of America's musical giants:

• BLUES with Diamond Teeth Mary, Lucky Peterson, Sarasota Slim, Bill Wharton (The Sauce Boss), Charles Atkins, St. Pete Twig, Pam Laws, Cathy Cotton and of course Randall "Big Daddy" Webster.

• BLUEGRASS with Chubby Anthony, Paul Champion, The Sandy Creek Stringers, Blind Buddy and the Bayou Boys and Hot Biscuits.

• FOLK with Steve Meisburg, Del Suggs, Valerie Caracapa, Ben Edmund and Grant Livingston.

• GOSPEL with Bernard and Angela Staton, (Bernard has been lead guitarist for Al Green, James Brown and Little Richard), Mount Temple Missionary Baptist Church of Liberty City, and George "Chocolate" Perry (bass player with Crosby Stills & Nash).

• ROCK with The Saltwater Band (where members of Jimmy Buffet's Coral Reefer Band, including Greg "Fingers" Taylor and Harry Dailey, often sat in), Refried Boogie, Tryst, Mimi Hearn, and Acoustic Gumbo with Randy "Big Daddy" Webster and Nashville writer/session player Steve Leslie.

• ZYDECO/CAJUN with Bruce Daigrepont (New Orleans, La.) and The Zydeco Playboys (Palatka, Fl.)

Mike also does a lot of work in the recording studio.  He most recently spiced up CD's by Steve Meisburg and the rock band Tryst (check out Tryst's CD, "Worth the Wait").   In 1999 he recorded with Bernard and Angela Staton, individually and was also joined by the Mount Temple Missionary Baptist Church. This produced the moving and inspirational gospel CD "He Is The Way".  Mike also worked with Ben Edmund on his CD, "Morning", where his distorted harp on the cut "Root of Evil" sounds downright evil.  He has recorded extensively with Mimi Hearn both individually and as a member of Mimi and the Hearndogs (the Hearndogs brought down the house at this year's Florida Folk Festival).  In the studio Mike is truly versatile.  He's done a square dance CD with world famous dance caller Elmer Sheffield, recorded country CD's with California's Karen Lechner, and Arizona's Dina Preston, and rocked out with Wayne DeWeil of Wayne's World on his 1995 solo effort.  As you can see Mike is a true harmonica genius.
